Casa de Santa Eufémia
Our Story
“The Douro is not just vines and wine... It is the people, the winegrowers who made history and the stories that endure.”
History
History
Quinta de Santa Eufémia was founded in 1894 by Bernardo Rodrigues de Carvalho, on the left bank of the Douro River, in the heart of the world's oldest demarcated wine region — the Douro. From its division was born Casa de Santa Eufémia, which today spans 40 hectares of vineyard and continues the family tradition with the same passion for Port wine passed down from generation to generation.
It is a land of secrets and unmistakable aromas, born among schist terraces, with varieties such as Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela, and white varieties Malvasia Fina, Moscatel Galego, and Gouveio.
